Basic Information

Mariania is a world rife with constant surprises. Caught within a tenuous period between the Stone Ages and Modern Civilization, the planet itself has three main powers: Marianian, Rosarian, and Dracanian

Marianians own a single, large continent from which they base their monarchy. They are wary of foreigners, and even more wary of magic, which puts them at odds with the other two empires, as well as some of the minority sentients living in their territory. They are a tall, physically oriented people, though they have no few number of scholars among them. They have fair skin, hair, and eyes, and typically dress barbarically. They have a single Queen as a ruling body, with an advisory counsel made up of three members: The Supreme General, The First Clerk, and The First Maid, who take care of military, financial, and day-to-day business respectively. The Queen can have a single lover who rarely becomes the Second Queen, or more typically a harem made up of the most beautiful women in the country.

The Rosarian's capital city, and origins, are on an island about one tenth the size of the Marianian Continent. However, they have acquired several other islands both larger and smaller than their main island, which give them a total land mass greater than Mariania, but less people. They are a slender, dark-skinned people of widely varying height, and tend to be naturally inclined to magic. They have a number of people known as 'Knights' that focus on strength as their primary asset, but the majority of them are magical. They have good relations with their minority-species, and allow them into their cities and participate in government, unlike the Marianians. Their ruling body consists of a sort of 'House of Representatives' called the Wise Women's Circle. A single representative comes for each island, as an elected official, to make laws which are then enforced and carried out by Knights.

The Dracanians are a lizardlike people, typically scaled, that are in essence are walking, flying embodiments of magic. Though as a people they are radically different from one another physically, ideally they seem almost to be a single mind, with how unified and straightforward they are. They have never experienced crime on any scale, and while some of them are giant, skyscraping, fire-breathing monstrosities, they also have more slender, humanoid members of their race. All of them are powerful, all of them are magical. Inferior in both population and land mass, the Dracanians have only a single contient about one-third the size of Mariania, most of it uninhabitable. They have no known ruling body, but typically do not need a government. They have no currency, and have a somewhat 'one for all' mindset.

In essence, Marianians are Physical, and despise everyone but themselves. Rosians are magical, and are wary of the Marianians due to their dislike of magic, but are friends with fey and Dracanians. Dracanians are Physical and Magical, have no feelings of hostility towards anyone, but carry out justice swiftly if another race wrongs them.
