Profile: Though not born Marian, Marian is the title bestowed upon the Queen when she gains the throne, whether through succession or birthright. No other woman in the country is allowed to wear the name, and if it is found that they do, they are to be put in immediate servitude, with her tongue cut out, so that she may never speak the name again. The reason this is so was because of the first queen of the country who later queens eventually named after her. She united all of the barbarian tribes under her banner and began pushing back the fey who had begun driving them almost to extinction. Within her short rule, Marian the First had claimed more than half of the continent, where as before they had only had a small area where 'Queen's Crown' now lay.

It is believed she would eventually have dominated the continent, had a fey assassin not claimed her in her sleep, merely days after her twenty-first birthday. In her honor, all of the future queens named themselves Marian, sending out one clear message to the fey who had killed their beloved queen; Marian will live on, in spirit if not in body. And she will eventually conquer the fey, and slaughter every last one.
