Avaline the General

Profile: Avaline, a half-blood who's mother was drow and father was human, was raised as a slave among the humans, her master having bought her from her father after her mother's death. This master, a well-known noble who had quite the reputation for being undefeated in the ways of the sword, was quite cruel to her, more and more so as she grew through her teenage years. Eventually, he brought her to her breaking point while in the presence of the higher lords and the Royal Guard. Her reaction was rather shocking, and somewhat devastating to a large part of the human community. She lifted a sword and turned on him, slashing away at him until his guard broke and his head removed by the final swing.

Normally, this would have meant death, but she had so impressed the Higher Lords that she was tested time and time again, and found worthy of being a warrior. They would spare her on the condition that she would fight for them obediently, like a dog. She agreed to this, deciding it would be a much better life than being underfoot of a cruel, disgusting creep of a man. She rose quickly in the ranks, soon becoming a General before her thirtieth birthday, helping the humans topple one country after another and enlarge their territory.

It was when she was around forty that she was given the assignment to assassinate the leader of a drow tribe, much to her shock and dismay. The humans, at some point in the past, signed a truce with the elves to live in peace with each other. Aside from that, she was half drow herself. The idea was to frame other clans for the murder and spark another dreadful, common war amongst the forest elves to make it easier for the humans to sneak in and steal their lands.

This idea was what broke Avaline's loyalty to the humans in general, though she accepted the mission and set out on her journey to the forest lands. Unknown to the Higher Lords and the King, she was instead making a plot to unite the clans and stop the humans in their greedy tracks. Somewhere along the way, she disappeared, only to live on in the legends passed down to the younger generation.

Fifty years later, she was found in her living grave, bound in the wood of a tree, awakened and given new youth.
